Thomas Richard Slutter 1939 – 2025
Thomas Richard Slutter, 86, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Enid Slutter, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Tom and Enid were married on June 18th, 1960, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and generosity. Over the years, they opened their hearts and home to countless children — loving, fostering, and adopting — embodying the belief that “all children smile in the same language.”
Tom retired in 1996 after 35 years of dedicated service as an Operations Supervisor at Jersey Central Power and Light. He cherished his time there, the friendships he built, and especially the years he worked alongside his son.
A true craftsman and family man, Tom loved creating wooden projects, painting, fishing, working at the farm, and spending time with those he loved most. His hands were always busy, his heart always open, and his presence always gentle.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children and grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. He will be forever missed and remembered for his kindness, work ethic, creativity, and the way he made every person feel seen and loved.
A memorial service in his honor will be held privately by his immediate family.
